Our Story

صمود

Sumud  ·  Steadfastness  ·  The refusal to be erased

Palestinian heritage, worn with pride. For the diaspora. For the generation that comes next.

Our beginning

We didn't start with a brand. We started with a feeling.

A feeling that Palestinian identity deserved to be worn with pride — not just in protest, but in beauty. In the fabric of everyday life. In the streets, the souks, and at the dinner tables of the diaspora.

The Sumud Collective was born from a family rooted in Leicester, shaped by community, and connected to a land that never leaves you — no matter how far you travel from it. We grew up organising, fundraising, showing up. Events, charity drives, pop-ups — always trying to do something that mattered.

Through it all, one question stayed with us: what does it look like to carry Palestine with you, every single day?

The answer was clothing. But not just any clothing.

Every piece we make is an act of remembrance.

The designs

Culture is the most powerful form of resistance.

The tatreez grid — the ancient Palestinian embroidery pattern our grandmothers stitched by hand — is woven into our designs. The Dome of the Rock, preserved on a British Mandate stamp, is printed on our hoodies. The word صمود is embroidered on every cap, in Arabic, because some things don't need translation.

We are not a political statement. We are a cultural one. And we believe that culture outlasts everything.

When you wear The Sumud Collective, you are saying: I know where I come from. I know what it cost. And I am still here.
